Explanation

MPEG stands for Moving Picture Experts Group. MPEG video compression is used in many current and emerging products. It is at the heart of digital television set-top boxes, DSS, HDTV decoders, DVD players, video conferencing, Internet video, and other applications. Question

What minimum sampling frequency is required for 20 − 20 kHz analog signal? (2004)

Choices

Choice (4) Response

a.

44.1 kHz

b.

20 kHz

c.

40 kHz

d.

Explanation

According to Nyquist Criteria the sampling frequency should be greater or equal to two times the signal frequency to remove the effects of aliasing effect. So, sampling frequency should be 40 kHz.
